Build, connect and test IoT devices

Two applications that work together. Register your devices and watch their data on IoT Platform, then explore MQTT, simulate devices and debug messages with MQTT Client, right from your browser.

IoT Platform

iot.reslab-csub.cloud

Manage devices and their sensors and actuators, build dashboards, automate with rules, and update firmware over the air.

  • Devices over HTTP and MQTT (TLS)
  • Live dashboards and charts
  • Rule engine, alarms and Telegram notifications
  • Firmware updates (OTA) and device sharing
Open IoT Platform

MQTT Client

mqtt.reslab-csub.cloud

A web MQTT client: connect to any broker, subscribe and publish, act as one of your platform devices, or practise in your own MQTT sandbox.

  • Brokers over wss://, mqtt:// and mqtts://
  • Device simulator: telemetry, commands, OTA
  • Topic tree, charts and MQTT 5 properties
  • Export messages to JSON or CSV
Open MQTT Client

One account for both

MQTT Client signs you in with your IoT Platform account; there is no second password. You can review or revoke its access any time under My profile → Connected apps on IoT Platform. Need an account? Use the sign-up link on the IoT Platform sign-in page if it is open, or ask the lab administrator.

Connecting a device

Each device signs in with its own access token (shown on the device page, tab MQTT). Only encrypted connections are accepted.

ProtocolAddressUsed by
HTTPShttps://iot.reslab-csub.cloud/api/v1/<token>/telemetryESP32 (HTTP), curl, scripts
MQTT over TLSmqtts://iot.reslab-csub.cloud:8883ESP32, mosquitto_pub/sub, MQTTX

The server certificate is issued by Let's Encrypt (root ISRG Root X1). Username and password for MQTT are both the device access token.
